故事大綱

假釋中的帕斯卡（Pascal）想要洗心革面，他在鄉下當建築工人，
裝修一間老房子。直到凱文（Kevin）出現，帕斯卡（Pascal）看見了昔日的自己。
他該伸出援手嗎？ 

Pascal, 50, on parole, has turned the back on his tumultuous past.
Working as a building worker, he wants a quiet lonely life. As Kevin,
young man in big trouble, asks him for work, he sees his old demons coming back
and wonders whether he should help him or not.

一位重症孩子生命的最後片段
孩子的母親終結了這一切的無奈…
Synopsis :
On a tranquil and warm sunny afternoon,
A seriously ill child entered the final state of life.
His mother eventually brought this inevitability to a conclusion...

導演簡歷
詹惠娟，1982年生，台中人，畢業於成大醫學院職能治療系，
也許因為愛作夢天性驅使，於成大就讀期間因緣際會下接觸學生電影拍攝
，從此對”拍電影”這件事深深著迷，目前於台藝大電影系研究所就讀中]。
”孩子”的緣起構想來自於臨床的醫療照護經驗。

Introduction of the Director:
Hui-Chuan Chan was born in 1982 in Taichung. She graduated from
National Cheng Kung University， majoring in occupational therapy.
Maybe it’s because she’s a romanticist, ever since she had the opportunity
to participate in a film in college, she has been deeply in love with film.
After graduating from college, she has studied film in the National Taiwan University of Arts.
The structure and the idea of “The Child” came mostly from
her experience as an occupational therapist.

導演引言：
疾病－人類面對最無情的摧殘，大部分的時候它毀掉的不只是一個人，
它常常也是毀掉家人、親人的兇手之一，不禁讓人懷疑“疾病”
是不是上天拿來折磨人類的手段之一，讓人漸漸的失去耐心、失去希望、甚至失去對親人的愛……，
使我們漸漸喪失“失去”的悲傷，以為“終結”才是最好的解脫。這麼說來，
疾病似乎也是人類自我保護的機制，折磨親人以至於我們不至於對“死亡”過度悲働，
但……沒有人有能力決定這一切，我們總是無知的。

Statement : 
Disease－which humanity was forced to face this cruelest wreck, most of times it's not only ruining one person,
but also a family. Is it a trick of Providence to torture mankind? I wonder. People lost their patient and faith little
by little, even the ability to love their dear ones… gradually we fall from the sadness of lose, and assume that
“the end” is the best extrication. In this way, it also seems like a self-protect mechanism for humanity,
we won’t get over grieved for death, being the process of love ones suffered. But……
nobody has the ability to decide all these, we always ignorant.
